What licences are available for CRE-DO software?

There are four options for licensing your CRE-DO software

1. Trial Licenses

We provide trial licenses for anyone interested in our software free of charge and for a period of 30 days. The software itself already contains a corresponding license key that you can easily activate online.

Important: automatically activated test licenses can only be used on computers that have internet access to the LicenseSpring license servers!

Would you like to test our software, but you don’t have the necessary internet connection on your system? Then please contact us via sales@lookup2.com to request an offline test license key (see below “Preactivated”)!

2. User-based

User-based licenses are a modern form of licensing, in which the purchased license is tied to an (arbitrary) e-mail address, a simple and easy-to-remember user identifier. In addition, the license server assigns each license user a permanent password. Together, these two features enable the user to run CRE-DO software on any computer at any one time. Multiple simultaneous logins with a single user ID are not permitted and are technically prevented. User-based licenses are particularly suitable for digital nomads, for people who want to use our software here and there, without being tied to a specific workstation or computer.

Important: User-based licenses can only be used on computers that have internet access to the license servers of LicenseSpring!

User-based licenses are managed by a designated license manager in your company, a single person or in-house department, under their control. For each license key delivered, we require at least one designated license manager (email address) in your company.

In the event of license changes or maintenance renewals for purchased or rented licenses, you do not need to do anything. The corresponding renewals are managed by us on the license server and are immediately available with the next activation.

3. Node-locked

Machine-bound licenses are the classic way of binding a license to a specific hardware. With this form of licensing, we take into account the number of devices on which our software is used, but not the number of users themselves on the respective devices. Machine-bound licenses are best suited for static machines, such as physical hardware or virtual machines whose permitted users are managed by an administrator. This type of licensing works on computers with and without Internet access. The software automatically detects whether the computer has Internet access and, if necessary, offers a form of offline licensing that relies on the (one-time) exchange of encrypted text files.

Similar to user-based licenses, computer-based licenses are also managed by a designated license manager, a single person or in-house department, under their control. For each license key delivered, we require at least one designated license manager (email address) in your company.

In the event of license changes or maintenance renewals for purchased or leased licenses, you do not need to do anything. The corresponding renewals are managed by us on the license server and are immediately available with the next activation.

4. Preactivated

It is completely out of the question that your computers intended for the use of our software will ever see the Internet, not even remotely (see section “Node-locked”)? No problem!

We manage the license for you!

Please contact us at sales@lookup2.com to purchase a pre-activated license key. In this case, we need a list of so-called host names (also called computer name or network name) of the systems intended for use. It is also possible to deposit a formula (regular expression, or “regex”) in case there are simply too many systems. Unfortunately, you cannot manage pre-activated licenses yourself. In this case, it is also not possible to automatically roll out license changes or maintenance renewals for purchased or rented licenses to the affected systems.
